Tortoiseshell Lamp

The Shard Tortoiseshell Lamp by Henry Forwood brings warm amber tones, deep brown markings and sculptural shape to your interior. Its gently curved, tapered body pairs a realistic faux tortoiseshell finish with polished solid brass sides. A linen shade is included, balancing the richly patterned base with a soft, neutral colour.

Henry specialises in high quality home accessories. An alchemist of decorative materials, he developed a unique method of recreating tortoiseshell’s layered appearance without using animal shell. Each lamp is individually handcrafted using his distinctive decorative techniques.

The contrasting surfaces give the design its character. Mottled amber patterns introduce movement, while the smooth brass catches surrounding light. The pale shade provides a quiet contrast and diffuses illumination for a welcoming atmosphere.

Place this table lamp on a console in an entrance hall, beside a sofa or on a bedroom side table. Display one as a focal point, or use a matching pair to bring balance to a room. Its warm palette complements natural wood, marble, neutral fabrics and other brass accessories.

Henry’s belief that “it’s the detail in a design that really counts” is reflected in the considered combination of pattern, proportion and materials.
