Cambodian Pelican Bird Sculpture - Small

This bird sculpture is a charming interpretation of a traditional Khmer pelican vessel, reimagined by renowned designer Henry Forwood as a distinctive decorative object for contemporary interiors. Inspired by historic Cambodian silver pelican boxes, this original sculpture combines cultural heritage with refined craftsmanship, creating a piece that feels both timeless and unique.

Every feather, wing and contour has been carefully sculpted to showcase remarkable texture and detail. Antiqued metallic finishes highlight the beak, eye, wings and feet, enhancing the character of the piece while giving it an elegant, collected appearance. Its compact size makes it exceptionally versatile, whether displayed on a mantelpiece, bookshelf, console table or kitchen shelf.

The original Khmer pelican boxes were traditionally used to store betel quid, a preparation enjoyed throughout Southeast Asia during ceremonies and social gatherings. While inspired by these historic containers, this sculpture is designed purely as a decorative object and does not open.
