Our elegant Jules Drinks Tray in Malachite is made from our classic faux malachite with graceful walnut and solid brass handles. The Jules Drinks is ideal for both serving food and drinks. Malachite is a very special stone and because of its amazing patterns in deep and pale greens. Because of its qualities it is has used for luxury decorations and ornaments by the rich and powerful for millennium. Normally it was used in conjunction with gilt metal to set off the shades of green.
Craftsmen and artists have been creating faux malachite products for centuries to recreate luxury of the real stone. Normally it is done by painting malachite like swirls in different shades of green. A few very ago I finally worked out a method of creating a really realistic faux malachite using photography. As you can see from the drinks tray, the results are amazing.
A word of caution with my interior designer’s hat on, the shades of green are strong and vibrant so it is best not to use it in excess.
